Top Prize Winner of the Disney Story Competition by Hayley Young, aged 10.
Rapunzel loved Adventure Circus, you got to fly around in an amazing space and it was such great fun! The rules were simple too: stay safe, use the crash mats and have your hair tied up.
Rapunzel got into trouble. Every day. She probably had the world’s largest bun and that was with only half of her hair up.
She tried hairdresser appointments, endless accessories, even a swimming cap but nothing worked. She needed a plan.
The instructors didn’t know what to do either. Rapunzel was meant to be one of the star performers in their upcoming show at Perth College but her hair was going to be a real problem. A problem no-one knew how to fix.
On show day Rapunzel sat in the wings feeling nervous. She was really worried about what might go wrong.
The curtains opened. The audience cheered. Rapunzel went on stage, shaking.
The first two scenes went off without a hitch but suddenly…a ripping noise…not now, they were so close…
The silks broke. Catastrophe. But Rapunzel had an idea, a good one for once.
They would use her hair as silks. So, it was decided and Rapunzel was already heading to the roof to throw her hair to the performers.
They did it! They did the show smoothly but guess what? The weight of the performers made Rapunzel’s hair fall off. Luckily, one of the circus instructors was also a willing hairdresser and she had it cut into a bob immediately.
What could go wrong with circus eh?
