When the Beast from the East hit Perthshire last week we came up with the idea of putting together a gallery of lovely wintery pics that would hopefully go live on the site before the last snowflake had melted. Unfortunately, we had no time, we were totally snowed under! However, while having a chat with the amazing Marysia Macfarlane who runs the Pictures of Perth and Beyond Facebook group page who happened to mention that photographers love this kind of weather because it's just so photogenic. She said she would have a word with her group members and ask them to submit their very best images from amongst those taken over the last week. Result!!
As I look through the photos just now I can see that Marysia and the group have totally hit it out of the park yet again. We've got some really amazing scenes to share with you today, starting with the cutest pic of Dog Friendly Perthshire's own poster dog Baxter chilling out in the snow! It's just too much! Speaking of cute, ace Photographer Fraser Hetherington's dog Bailey is no slouch in the cuteness stakes either as you can see by his amazing pic of him almost buried up to his neck in fluffy snow.
Elsewhere we have stunning wildlife pics courtesy of Tom Ryan's great shot of a Fieldfare bird (which is so detailed that it even captures the raindrops) and Rab Dobbie's picture of Reindeer frolicking in the snow. We've got pictures of people getting on with things as normal with 'slice of life' images from Marysia, Gordon Muir and Aleta Donaldson, and beautiful woodland scenes courtesy of Lorraine Clark and Lorna Russell. To top it off we've got an amazing picture of Rodney Gardens a familiar Perth setting looking a bit like the maze from the Overlook Hotel in the film 'The Shining'. Chilling Stuff!
