Santa Run and Festive Bungee

The past two Saturdays in Perthshire we have been lucky enough to be treated to two Christmassy events.  First up on the 2nd of December at Killiekrankie 27 of Santa's adrenaline seeking little helpers took part in a Festive Bungee Jump and Highland Swing.

Dressed in their favourite seasonal garb they took a 40-metre leap from a platform suspended above the dramatic Pass of Killiecrankie.  They experienced an airborne flight of a few seconds at upwards of 50 mph before the Bungee cord sprung them back to normal, upright life.

Join us for a highland fling you’ll never forget and wear your favourite festive clothes (only if you wish) Take a 40 metre leap from a platform suspended above the dramatic Pass of Killiecrankie for our bungee jump. An airborne flight of a few seconds at over 50 mph before a special Bungee jump cord springs you back to normal, upright, life.

As well as getting their adrenaline fix, feeling nice and Christmassy, and satisfying their desire to dress up, the 27 brave volunteers also raised over £5000 for Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland!

The second part of our special festive gallery is made of pictures from The Perth Santa Run 2017 which took place last Saturday in the City Centre.  Things kicked off at the Perth Concert hall where over one thousand Santa's congregated before starting the 5km run taking in the streets of Perth, the Tay bridges and finishing with a lap of the North Inch.

All runners (adults and children) were supplied with their Santa outfit and there was even plenty of festive dogs in festive outfits who were rising to the challenge.  Our photographer Colin was particularly taken with a pair of Huskies who were carrying two miniature Santa's on their back.

It was a lovely sunny but cold day (hey it is December after all) and there were plenty of supporters and spectators lining the streets and the Inch to offer cheers of encouragement.  When the participants crossed the finish line they were given a heroes welcome plus a medal that, fittingly, also double's as a Christmas decoration.

A great day out was had by all and it was a great way to get geared up for the festive season.
