Perth Fireworks Display 2017 Gallery

Whether you think of it as Bonfire Night or Guy Fawkes this great British annual celebration traditionally held on 5th November is responsible for many a childhood memory. The magical display that took place in Perth last Sunday at the South Inch was bound to create some lasting memories for the children in attendance.

The town centre was absolutely buzzing with excitement as families grabbed a spot on the South Inch for a great night of entertainment.  The festivities included, of course, the excellent display but there was also great live music and all the fun of the fair with thrilling rides, sideshows and even cotton candy.  If candy-floss wasn't your thing then there was plenty of other delicious food and hot and cold drinks to choose from.

As anyone who has tried to stage a fireworks display in their own garden (guilty I'm afraid) sometimes things are best left to the professionals! These days public Firework displays are creative displays of pyrotechnic genius, planned and thought out months in advance.  As always the event was completely free of charge and organised by the awesome at folks Perth Strathearn 200 roundtable, although they did take donations and people gave very generously.  They did a great job, it was a really world-class display and everything ran like clock-work.

GALLERY PHOTOGRAPHER: Ian Potter from PK Perspective, is a Perthshire based photographer who likes to get out and about looking for the next great shot.  If you have ever tried to take pictures of fireworks on your smartphone then you will know that it is no easy feat.   Never fear though as was on hand once again to save the day.  From his position on the Tay bridge, he captured all the action as well as venturing into the funfair afterwards to capture all the fun on offer there.  If it moves, Ian can snap it! If you see anyone you know in the pics be sure to tag them!  You can find out more about Ian in our Workdays & Weekends story here> view more from PK Perspective over on their site here>
