The idea for today's gallery came when we saw a picture that Norrie Shand posted of the whim at Blair Castle in the FaceBook group Pictures of Perth and Beyond. It was such a beautiful picture of an amazing that we started to look around for other equally awesome pics of historic Perthshire landmarks.
In this weeks gallery, we obviously bring you pictures of castles including Methven and Huntingtower but we also celebrate the beauty of slightly more modern buildings including the newly renovated Perth Theatre and the beautiful old King James Hospital and the historic Dunkeld village square. To top it all off we have a couple of monuments, the McDuff Monument near Scone and the Kinnoull Tower which was actually built as a ruin in the early 19th Century.
Evelyn Kelly

Connor McLaren
Connor only first started photography two years ago and he has come on leaps and bounds since then. He specialises in nature photography (although his pic of the Kinnoull tower shows he can certainly turn his hand to landscapes too) and was thrilled to be short-listed for the Perth City Centre Winter Photo competition as Photography is something he would like to pursue as a career. His photographs were previously featured in our Wintery Perthshire Gallery which you can view here.
Katherine Fotheringham
When not running her dog walking and small animal care business, Paws and Claws, Katherine Fotheringham is a keen landscape photographer. In 2015 she set up Fox in the Snow Photography with her friend Andy Clarke and you can check out their work here.
Ben Ellis
Benjamin Ellis is a freelance photographer and filmmaker who lives and works in Perth. He made his first strides into the field of photography just over four years ago and it has since become a true passion. Norrie Shand
It was Norrie's picture of Blair Castle that gave us the inspiration for this gallery. He is recently retired but keeps busy as Secretary of 45 Degrees Mountaineering Club and with regular post to the Pictures of Perth and Beyond site. Worked in General Accident in Perth from 73-93, then moved down south and worked in London/Essex for 20 years before retiring to Pitlochry 4 years ago.
