We are big dog fans here at Small City. Holly has a gorgeous Frenchie puppy called Louie and Hannah is equally proud of her beautiful fur babies, Papa Joe and Shakira. However, the star of this weeks gallery is our reviewer Colin and his girlfriend Jo's dog, Millie. In Millie's former life she was a stray dog on the streets of Constanta, Romania before being rescued and rehomed by the charity Animal Rescue Crew, who are a small team of dedicated animal lovers that find forever homes for dogs and cats throughout Scotland and the UK.
Colin and Jo often use the Dog-Friendly Perthshire Facebook group to scope out places to take Millie in Perthshire, so camera in hand, we sent them to grab some snaps of Millie out and about. First stop was The Weigh In. Millie loves this takeaway as the staff always give her a cooked sausage and make a big fuss of her. Millie then walked off her breakfast at Rodney Gardens which she appreciated as a nice alternative to her usual stroll around the North Inch.
Then it was into town to do a little bit of shopping, including a stop at White Stuff, where Colin and Millie got to have a seat while Jo checked out all the bargains. It was thirsty work, so they took on some liquid refreshments at The Old Ship Inn, followed by lunch and a coffee at Blend. Millie can be a little bit nervous around other dogs and Blend is the perfect place for her to meet new canines in a comfortable environment. She took a shine to a beautiful labrador called Dexter (her owners found Blend on Dog-Friendly Perthshire too!) and they hung out while the humans enjoyed a latte.
Next stop was Wishies Meadow near Luncarty, a fully enclosed field where Millie could be let off the lead in safety. She had a great time running around, splashing in the water and even digging herself a burrow. Final stop was the Cherrybank Inn for some more Kodak moments, a nice burger and curry for the humans and some dog treats for Millie!
About the Photographers
Jo Gostling is an animal lover who got into snapping almost by accident. She often accompanies her boyfriend Colin (our live music reviewer) to gigs and he began to realise that the picture's she took on her high-end camera phone were better than those he was taking on his DSLR. As a result, Small City reviews are now often accompanied by her awesome pics.
Hannah Duthie is the Arts and Craft columnist at Small City, Big Personality and like Jo, she is a bit of an animal fanatic. She helped us out with her great shots of Pablo and Gringo at the venue and a pic of herself and Papa Joe at Blend.
