About a month ago I was looking through some summery pics on the Facebook group, Pictures of Perth and Beyond when some shots by Deborah Wallace caught my eye. I loved the way she used natural light in her pictures. Perthshire's a bonny place anyway but through her lens, it took on a light and airy look that could fool you into thinking that you were looking at scenes from Provence or Italy.
There were too many photos for me to use in just one gallery so I emailed Deborah to ask if I could do a stand-alone gallery of her work. It wasn't until I started putting the gallery together that Deborah Wallace was actually Debbie Thomson who lived on the same street as me growing up! I was friends with her brother Stephen and when the Thomson family visited our house Debbie and I would bound over our record collections (she had New Kids On The Block and I had Shakin' Stevens).
Since then her passion for Marky Mark has been overtaken by a passion for a photography and she has a great knack for capturing landscapes, pets and family scenes. I'm a sucker for cute dog pics and her shots of the wonderful Monty and Buddy are beautifully composed. Also, the scenes of local beauty spots like Quarry Mills and Bluebells are amazing. There's all this plus much more in this week's Small City gallery!
