Music legends Bryan Ferry and Foreigner rocked crowds at this weekend’s Rewind Scotland, held at Scone Palace, Perth. Lulu, The Stranglers, Belinda Carlisle, Lisa Stansfield, The Undertones and many more performed their chart-topping hits from the 80s and beyond. Around 15,000 revellers turned up for a joyous, three-day celebration which included stand-up comedy by Phill Jupitus, Jimeoin and Christopher Macarthur-Boyd. The Forever Stage, Disco Den, Crafty Taps and Studio 54 provided round-the-clock entertainment with outdoor film screenings, Bottomless Brunch Gameshow and exclusive Q&As with artists Leo Sayer and Paul Young.

Bryan Ferry delivered the perfect finale to a knock-out Rewind extravaganza. The music icon – who was recently inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as part of Roxy Music – made his Rewind debut with a mighty set that thrilled the Scottish audience. Best-loved classics like ‘Jealous Guy’, ‘Slave to Love’, ‘Love is The Drug’ and ‘Dance Away’ came to life with a full band.
Punk pioneers The Stranglers turned it up to a hundred when they hit the main stage. Not even the rain could dampen the crowd’s energy as they fed off electrifying performances of ‘Walk On By’, ‘Golden Brown’, ‘Peaches’, ‘No More Heroes’ and more.
Belinda Carlisle received a warm welcome back to Rewind Scotland – as she walked on stage, a fan unfolded a banner spelling “Heaven Is A Place Near Perth”. She had the crowd in the palm of her hand as she performed her hits ‘Leave A Light On’, ‘Summer Rain’, ‘Heaven Is A Place on Earth’, and more.
Leo Sayer delivered a big crowd pleaser set, following his Q&A session at the Forever Stage where fans got a chance to get up close and personal with him. The affable music star showed no signs of slowing down as he left the crowd chanting for more after delivering hit after hit from his four-decade career such as ‘You Make Me Feel Like Dancing’, ‘Thunder in My Heart’, and ‘More Than I Can Say’. Synth-pop icon Midge Ure – an evergreen Rewind favourite – followed Leo and kept everyone on their feet dancing. The outstanding Sunday of live music at Rewind also featured performances by The Skids, Big Country, Hazel O’Connor and Björn Again.
Legendary rockers Foreigner headlined Saturday’s line up, putting on an electrifying performance for their only Scotland show this year. Speaking about their first time playing Rewind, frontman Kelly Hansen said, “I love all the colours and the wigs. And I see a lot of rock and rollers out there too!”. The band invited Lulu on stage for a duet on their classic hit ‘I Want To Know What Love Is’, leading the crowd on a massive sing-along amid a sea of lit up smartphones. The rousing set also included their lung-busting hits ‘Cold As Ice’, ‘Jukebox Hero’ and ‘Waiting For A Girl Like You’.
Next up is Rewind North taking place at Capesthorne Hall, Macclesfield from Friday 2 August to Sunday 4 August. And rounding out the summer of timeless music is Rewind South, taking place at Temple Island Meadows, Henley on Thames, from Friday 16 August to Sunday 18 August.
