It was an absolutely glorious day of sunshine last Saturday, so it’s no surprise that many of you headed down to the North Inch for the Perth Beer Festival!
The event organisers Perthshire Rugby Club welcomed record numbers to the event as people headed down to bask in the beautiful weather and enjoy some of the best craft beers our region has to offer!
Those who attended necked and scoffed thousands of beers and burgers over the weekend, before the party atmosphere kicked off at the Big Bash on Saturday night with live music from The Solid Gold Band. The Perth Comedy Night on Friday evening kicked off proceedings, and was compared by Bruce Fummey with performances from local comedians Jim Smith of Caputh and Abernethy’s Joe Heenan. Then Perth’s very own Fred MacAulay took to the stage and had the audience in stitches!
With the marquee packed up for another year, Perthshire Rugby’s Chief Executive Allan Brown commented:
“We’d like to extend a huge thank you to the people of Perth for turning out and supporting our Perth Beer Festival fundraising events across the weekend. We’re delighted the sun shone and record numbers of guests came along and had a good time.
Our bar and catering teams served literally thousands of pints and burgers across the weekend. We’ve received a lot of positive feedback and we look forward to welcoming everyone back again on the 12th May next year.
I’d like to say a huge thank you to our sponsors, Tan International, for their continued support and to the Perthshire Rugby squad of volunteers who worked tirelessly across the whole weekend to make this event such a great success.”
A fantastic day of sunshine, beers and burgers – what’s not to like? Here at Small City we can’t wait for next year’s festival and we look forward to seeing you all there too! We’ve put together a gallery showcasing some highlights from the weekend, have a look, there may be one of you!
