We do LOVE a day at the races here at Small City; any excuse to get out the high heels and big hats. This year's race season is as jam-packed as ever and with the big Ladies Day event already gone we thought we'd share some of the highlights so far with you all - do tag your friends if you spot them!
Next up for Perth Racecourse the most prestigious day of their racing calander; The City of Perth Gold Cup Day. Started back in 2000 by then manager, Sam Morshead, this early June meeting was originally a celebration for the new millennium. It has now become synonymous with great racing and is never short is never short of a fun party atmosphere!
One of the busiest and most loved meetings of the year, punters can expect big crowds, big names and the thrill of watching very best in UK and Irish jockeys, horses and trainers come thundering down the track.
I am always amazed at how many local people tell us that they've never had a day at the races and so if this is you, then why not make your first event a big one and head out next Sunday to join in the fun. Go glam, go in jeans or dress up in your best tweeds and ward off the summer weather! You can have a wee flutter (£2 each way is our limit!), enjoy a real ale from Inveralmond or Strathbrann and of course the champagne flows all day long if that's your party drink of choice!
