If ever there was a way to celebrate ten year's in business, moving into a larger, shinier and even more fabulous shop on the High Street has to be right up there with the best of them!
It barely seems like a decade ago that Lori McGaffney opened the doors of 29 Scott Street, hoping upon hope that the women of Perth were going to come in and buy wonderful shoes.
A lot has changed since then but Eva Lucia has stood the test of time, gradually moving from quirky shoe boutique into the go-to fashion shop for women of all ages, sizes, styles and budgets.
This most recent move has seen the stylish trio that is Lori, Sonia and Mags pack up an entire shop and move round the corner to 213 HIgh Street.
A stunning double window frontage opens up into a bright new store, all rose-gold trim and concrete desk, beautiful wallpaper and - luxury of luxuries - three gorgeous, spacious fitting rooms to accomodate their ever-growing customer base.
As always, it was the customer experience that drove Lori's decision to move. She had been looking for larger premises for some time, determined to give her loyal clientelle more of that great Eva Lucia service.
"We had just outgrown our wee shop in Scott Street. It will always hold a special place in my heart, but it was time to scale up! The move was a well documented challenge but we're in, open and if I'm honest, I think I’m even more excited than I was when we first opened all those years ago."
From cute t-shirts to sophisticated party dresses, classic blazers in every colour to stunning jewellery and acecssories, Lori’s timeless mix of easy-to-wear pieces have picked up one of the most eclectic – and enviable - fan-bases of any city centre fashion outlet.
"People sometimes think we're just for young girls, or that we're really expensive but we have customers from 18 to 80, and t-shirts starting at £20!
This season we're opening with some of the Eva Lucia favourite collections: so French Connection, Felmini, Kanna, Part Two, Traffic People, Ichi, Silvian Heach, Victoria, Olia, Kaffe And Connock. It is all gorgeous and we've had some great feeback."
We've said it before, but we'll say it again; one of the reasons we love Eva Lucia so much is Lori's obvious love of fashion and impeccable service. And of course, there is something just a little romantic and wildly life-affirming about a woman who escapes the stiff, structured institution of a career in the bank to open her own gorgeous boutique in the heart of the city.
