Big, bright, brash, bewitching and brimming with stars this year's Perth Christmas Lights Switch On was the biggest and most entertaining yet.
Once again a veritable who's who of the world of entertainment rocked up in the Fair City to help welcome in the festive season and lit up the city's streets with Christmas colour.
TV Talent Show judge Alesha Dixon, and former Westlife and Boyzone heartthrobs Brian McFadden and Keith Duffy were just part of a fantastic line-up that will dazzle and entertain the Perth crowd. That's before you even mention the icing on the Christmas Cake, Walthamstow's finest East 17 back by popular demand to sing one of best Christmas number ones ever! If your gran and grandad found those newfangled boy bands too racy then old-school glam rock band Mud was on hand to make sure that they didn't feel "Lonely this Christmas".
The three stages were packed with live performances throughout the day - The Main Stage, Community Stage and Kids Stage - ensuring that even the grouchiest Grinch stayed entertained.
As well as the live music and entertainment, there where special animal guests such as donkey's, camels and even Rudolph and his fellow reindeer pals. Of course, the ever jolly Santa Claus himself was there to make sure everyone entered into the festive spirit and check out for himself who was being naughty and nice.
There was also fun-packed events and activities on the streets throughout the city centre including a Christmas parade led by Santa and his reindeers plus an array of fantastic local food and drink (mulled Cairn-No-Mhor cider, don't mind if I do!) were available throughout the day. The light switch on proper commenced at 6:15 PM followed by a tremendous firework display that lit up the Tay and could be seen from both the Main Stage and the High Street.
