Here in Perthshire we’re spoiled for choice when it comes to eating out; with an abundance of award-winning chefs, some VERY prestigious Michelin stars and any number of AA rosettes finding somewhere exceptional to mark your special occasions is easily done in Perthshire.  How then, do you make a big fantoosh when you want to celebrate in an extraordinary way?

Well, we think we may well have the answer… How about a private dinner, with your own personal host, in a castle that dates back to the 12th century? This, you see, is dinner in the beautiful Empire Gallery of the Black Watch Castle and Museum. 

The Empire Gallery’s rich, red walls and breath-taking artefacts offer a truly unique backdrop with which to fascinate your guests.   Conversation, I’m sure, would never run dry with cabinets full of history, regimental and personal achievements at every turn.

As you’d expect this is a bespoke service and brings with it exclusive use of the Castle.  And because your night is tailored to your party, you can indulge in as many options and add –ons as there are rooms in the Castle. Start with a tour to find out more about your venue and the people it commemorates, enjoy canapes and fizz on arrival, listen to an insightful talk from the curator or simply arrive and relax into an evening of fine dining, whisky and wine.

And fine dining it is too; although famed for their homemade soup and tasty baking, the Castle’s private dining menus are produced using fresh, locally sourced ingredients.   Each menu is created and approved in advance, and all dishes are prepared with care and attention on the night. 

Of course, some guests book simply to enjoy the extraordinary experience of dinner in the home of the Black Watch, but others look to steep themselves in the tales of the historic Balhousie Castle and iconic Highland Regiment that is the Black Watch.   Whatever your reasons, you’re certain to have THE best dinner party anecdote for years to come!
