Treacherous Orchestra are nothing short of a Scottish supergroup who are big in numbers and perform in epic style. Their story is one of many strands, a tale told spanning the length and breadth of Scotland.
An undefinable collective force fusing people, concepts, styles and influences, shaping a musical supergroup that defies description. From the North to the South, East to the West they came, converging in the musical melting-pot of Glasgow, trading ideas over beers and playing music with ferocity, verve and passion. Be prepared to be blown away.
Adam Holmes is one of the brightest rising stars on the Scottish folk scene. He crafts lyrics that resonate like old folk songs, set to melodies rooted in haunting slow airs. Like John Martyn’s strum and sting, laced with a slice of Celtic soul and a touch of traditional folk. His first album with the Embers in 2014 was nominated for both Scottish Album of the Year and Best Album at the Scottish Traditional Music Awards. He has been singer/guitarist with the popular powerhouse band RURA, on their critically acclaimed albums and touring widely. His latest album with the Embers, Brighter Still has been recently released.
Rachel Sermanni is a Scottish folk musician from Carrbridge. An accomplished storyteller, she writes rich, thoughtful lyrics which belie her twenty something years. Her folk noir style ranges from gentle to grungy. Both her 2012 debut album, Under Mountains, and latest album, Tied to the Moon in 2015, were released to critical acclaim. Tied to the Moon was nominated for Scottish Album of the Year.
