"Manchester's Travelling Band have it all going for them at the moment. What's not to like?!"- BBC
Since their humble beginnings as a self-proclaimed 'folk noir' outfit back in 2008, The Travelling Band have developed into one of the most exciting Americana artists in the UK. Their critically acclaimed 3rd album The Big Refreeze (2014) received great reviews from the likes of Q, Uncut and Drowned in Sound, as well as national airplay from Dermot O'Leary and Bob Harris, pushing this Manchester based 5-piece band to new heights.
A phenomenal band giving stunning performances in live settings, they’ve played at national festivals, including Glastonbury, at which they were winners of the coveted New Talent competition when they’d just formed in 2008, and although based in Manchester, the band are no strangers to the Scottish shores - they recorded their second album in complete isolation on the Isle of Mull.
There’s a beefiness to these songs that gives them an extra something – the crisp guitars… unashamedly anthemic territory… the swaggering rhythm that pushes ’25 Hours’ along Drowned in Sound.
