The Motor Vehicle Department offers challenging and rewarding opportunities for individuals wishing to pursue a career in the automotive service and repair industry.
There are a range of courses aimed at developing core practical skills, theoretical knowledge and employability skills for those wishing to embark on a career in the Automotive industry. Courses are grouped into two distinct areas: Motor Vehicle and Motor Vehicle Body and Painting, both of which can be followed on a full-time programme or through an employer sponsored apprenticeship scheme.
The area has seen significant investment and updating of equipment.
Motor Vehicle students can engage in small project work and various practical activities providing hands-on experience as well as gaining a respected City & Guilds qualification. There is an opportunity for full-time Mechanical students to apply for the Morris Young or Stagecoach Scholarships which provides financial and practical assistance to the successful applicant.
The Body Repair facilities provide students with an excellent environment working on real life vehicles to mirror current industry practice. The area has seen significant investment and updating of equipment which means students can practice the skills at the same level of facilities they would find in commercial companies.
