There’s a fantastic offering of gyms and fitness facilities in the region stretching from Highland Perthshire right down to Kinross-shire. It’s great for the people of Perth and it means we all have lots of opportunities to keep fit and be healthy, and that can only be a good thing!
One of the main providers of gyms and fitness suites in the area is Live Active Leisure and this week they’re opening a brand new strength and conditioning gym at their Strathearn Community Campus facility.
It opens on Wednesday 15th November and adds to the already fantastic offering in the Crieff campus which has a swimming pool, dance studio, squash courts and outdoor sports pitches. The new gym has been kitted out by Origin Fitness and includes TRX equipment, kettlebells and a wide range of free weights which will help you to improve your strength and build muscle.
It’s a multi-purpose gym which can also be used to deliver a range of fitness classes and there will be regular high intensity interval training sessions focused on core, strength and power held within the facility and delivered by qualified fitness trainers. These can be accessed at a cost for non-members but will be free to those with Live Active memberships.
Graeme Lackie, Live Active Leisure’s Fitness Manager, has been working tirelessly over the past few weeks getting the new gym at Strathearn Community Campus ready and he’s excited about this new addition to the already fantastic facility in Crieff.
“The new gym will provide our members in the area with new and improved fitness training options, through an innovative strength and conditioning area which includes some of the newest and most advanced training equipment.
"Origin Fitness has provided us with a wide range of free weights, including two Perfromance Half Racks and the gym also has a variety of functional training equipment which is very popular in the fitness world.
We can now offer an exceptional overall fitness package in the Strathearn area, which is great news for our members.
“There is also the capacity to hold small group training sessions that are both educational and motivational which will help our customers to reach their chosen fitness goals. We can now offer an exceptional overall fitness package in the Strathearn area, which is great news for our members and I’m really looking forward to seeing them enjoy this brand new strength and conditioning area!”
Before using the gym, one of the Live Active members of staff will take you through a supervised induction to help you learn how to use the equipment safely. There are also additional sessions available such as ‘Learn to Lift’ – which focuses on the techniques used in deadlifts and other free weight exercises and will run in small groups in the training area.
