Singers and Musicians Roll Up

By 7th August 2015

Every now and then I am reminded of SHOCKINGLY bad I am at singing and how much I desperately want to be be able to burst into song and enjoy that instant, glorious burst of music.

That was exactly how I felt when I was chatting to Pam from Horsecross about Perth Concert Hall’s 10th anniversary celebrations. You see, Horsecross Arts has joined forces with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra to create a very special concert that will bring together singers and musicians from across Perthshire and Kinross.

Horsecross Voices Does Musicals is set to be an amazing event and culminates in a choir and orchestra performance in Perth Concert Hall on Sunday 13 September - which is the venue’s 10th anniversary community weekend. I have it on good authority that some of the musicals included will be Les Misérables, West Side Story, Calamity Jane, Blood Brothers and more.

If you're unsure about just how fantastic Horsecross Voices are, then click over and read all about the wonderful Debra Salem, a previous Big Personality who has been part of the fabric of this great Perth institution.

So, how can you get a spot up there on the stage? Read on!

Residents of Perth & Kinross, Dundee, Fife and Stirling are eligible to audition for solo parts at open auditions in Perth Concert Hall on Sunday 9 August. The entire team at Horsecross are super excited about their 10th Anniversary and Noëlle Cobden, head of creative learning at Horsecross Arts said this:

“We are delighted to be joining forces with our friends at RSNO to create Horsecross Voices Does Musicals. This is a fitting celebration of ten years of singing, community participation, musical collaboration and creative learning in Perth Concert Hall and we look forward to receiving many applications to audition and to take part. We hope, not only to hear from some of the thousands of people who have engaged in our join-in activities over the years, but also from some new participants who may be inspired to be a part of such an exciting and unique experience.

Horsecross Does Musicals will be an uplifting finale to our Singing Sunday which is a whole day of singing fun that everyone can get involved in.”
