Pitlochry 10K & Jog Scotland 5K

Live Active Leisure celebrates 10 years of their 10K this Sunday 20th September and have invited Jog Scotland's 5K to join in the race!
The annual Pitlochry 10K race celebrates its tenth anniversary on Sunday 20th September with Perth born Olympian, Eilidh Childs, starting off proceedings and awarding medals at the finish line.

In addition to their award-winning 10K, race organisers, Live Active Leisure, have been working with Jog Scotland to launch a new and exciting 5K race, The Jog Scotland Challenge: Pitlochry 5k.

Participants of both races will enjoy the gloriously scenic route that has contributed to the popularity of the Live Active Leisure Highland Race Series and it is expected that the new 5K option along with Miss Child’s involvement will bring a record attendance to this Ten Year Anniversary event.

Live Active Leisure’s Events Manager, Richard Pearson commented, “I am delighted to be welcoming along an athlete of Eilidh’s pedigree and to be extending the 10K race day to include Jog Scotland’s new challenge is fantastic. The number of runners who have pre-entered the event is up significantly on previous years and I fully expect pre-entries to rise to around 300.”

The final event in the 2015 Race series is supported by Scottish and Southern Energy’s Next Generation programme which supports 100 young athletes across the UK and Ireland.  Their four-year partnership with Sports Aid is dedicated to helping young athletes reach their potential and includes help and mentoring from elite athletes, including Eilidh, to prepare them for life as a top athlete.

Both the 10K and 5K events will be chip timed and runners who would like to compete in this commemorative event can continue to pre-register on the website www.EntryCentral.com until Thursday 17th September.
