Although the ‘light of yoga’ arose in India, it could just as easily have arisen in Pitlochry! The wise, nomadic Rishis who developed yoga just happened to be in India as they sought to find ways that man could live in harmony with nature and the animal kingdom while connecting to the power and energy of the Universe.
Yoga is for everyone who is interested in moving the body mindfully and in a way that enhances movement through increased flexibility, strengthening muscles to support the skeletal structure and bringing good alignment and body use.
In addition, it gives opportunities to learn how to relax effectively and quieten our minds through concentration and meditation techniques – and regular practice can lead to spiritual awareness and deep contentment.
All the above take time and practice but improvements can actually be seen more quickly than you might at first think – and then it naturally becomes part of our everyday lives.
There are a variety of yoga classes for men and women at Perth Yoga Studio that you can find details of on their timetable page. They also offer Tai Chi and Chi Kung, various forms of Meditation sessions and Susan’s lovely Nia exercise class for all shapes and sizes to have fun getting fit and healthy.
