This year Perth Silent Auction is once again raising money for the Cornhill Macmillan Centre at Perth Royal Infirmary and a host of smaller charities in Perth and beyond.
The Big County’s favourite fundraiser is a joint effort between the Rotary Club of Perth and the Perthshire Advertiser. It's been running since 2006 and during that time has raised over £250,000 for good causes, both local and worldwide.
This year they've further revamped the website to make it even more user-friendly for smart phones and tablets. All you have to do to get bidding is log on to www.perthsilentauction.co.uk and follow the simple instruction on the home page to register.
The silent auction offers buyers the opportunity to buy Christmas gifts, one-off experiences, and many other fantastic items. With all money received going to deserving local charities. Perth’s Silent Auction has been supporting the work of PRI’s Cornhill Macmillan Centre since it opened its doors in 2009.
The £3.75 million centre – a joint partnership between Macmillan Cancer Support and NHS Tayside – delivers comprehensive palliative care for in-patients with cancer and other life-limiting conditions, including symptom control, rehabilitation and end-of-life care as well as offering support to families and carers.
Perthshire's top restauranteurs are also backing Perth Silent Auction 2016 by donating some delicious dining experiences. Our friends Scott and Penny Edwards from Parklands have been stalwart supporters of Perthshire's favourite fundraiser since the early days, and this year they have surpassed themselves with two amazing lots that are guaranteed to tempt the tastebuds of discerning diners.
Not only have they donated a Prosecco Sunday Lunch for two in their gorgeous restaurant overlooking Perth's South Inch, they've also thrown in a fabulous five course tasting menu for six at their beautiful 63@Parklands restaurant nestled in the beautiful Boutique Parklands Hotel.
Meanwhile, their sister restaurant on Tay Street has also got in on the act, with Scott and Penny's business partner and chef-patron Graeme Pallister donating a four course tasting lunch for two people at his much acclaimed riverside eaterie.
Other city centre restaurants have also generously gifted some tempting lots. Fair City favourites Cafe Tabou has donated a steak night menu for two, while one lucky bidder will enjoy a meal for four plus wine at Willows Coffee Shop. The Black Watch Castle and Museum has also donated a delicious afternoon tea for two with a behind-the-scenes tour of the castle and museum for four people.
Top hotel Gleneagles has added its support to Perth Silent Auction with lunch for four in the newly refurbished Century Bar. And for a real touch of indulgence A&J Stephen (Builders) Ltd has donated an Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles Degustation Menu.
There's so many fabulous lot's that we can't even begin to describe them all so have listed them all below. Have a browse through and get your bets on!
This year’s Silent Auction finishes on Saturday, December 3rd, 2016.
