A fantastic opportunity to hear one of the world’s top pianists in Beethoven’s
unforgettable farewell to the piano sonata. The programme begins with some of Bach’s preludes and fugues from his Well-Tempered Clavier paired with Schumann’s 7 Small Fugues. Words cannot express the emotional intensity of Anderszewski’s performances.

Alexander Gavrylyuk’s Perth debut in 2017 was a sensation. He followed this up with an unforgettable performance of Tchaikovsky’s first Piano Concerto with Thomas Søndergård and the RSNO. His widely varied programme
concludes with one of the greatest of all piano showpieces - Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition - a magical tour round a series of paintings evoked in great music.

Since his Perth Cycle in 2010 Llŷr Williams has become world renowned for his Beethoven including complete cycles in Mexico and at the Wigmore Hall as well as an acclaimed recording of the whole set of Beethoven Piano Sonatas. It is a huge pleasure to welcome an old friend back to Perth.

Danny Driver
The Devil’s Staircase
Sun 1 Dec: 3pm

Bach Partita No 1 in B flat major BWV 825
Ligeti 18 Etudes

A unique opportunity to hear all Ligeti’s incredibly inventive Etudes. Danny Driver’s performance of these pieces at the Lammermuir Festival led to a standing ovation for his rendering of some of the very hardest
piano music ever written. Staggering virtuosity! The clarity and poise of Bach’s first partita is the perfect contrast.
