The Party Look How To

By 4th November 2016

We were extremely lucky to have a team of award-winning hair and make-up professionals from Copperfields Hair and Leslie Sneddon Make-up artistry, at our recent photoshoot for St John's Shopping Centre's Christmas Campaign.  Our models looked fantastic and even after a few hours and LOTS of changes their hair and make-up was intact and wowing the camera.

Never ones to miss a trick (and always on the search for top tips and fab new products) we asked Ashley, Hayleigh and Leslie to give us the low-down on how to create these stunning party looks at home.

For both looks, the pros agree that using the best quality products you can afford is the way to achieve long lasting hold. So get your Savage Panache across the hair and finish your make-up with a good quality setting spray to keep yourself party-perfect for 12 hrs plus!

Leslie also recommends adding a bit of sparkle to your make-up look with some glitter on the eyelid or the centre of the lips depending where you have your pop of colour.

Party Look How To Tanya

HAIR

Curls will never go out of fashion and a jaw-length bob like Tanya's can look every bit as glam as long flowing locks.  This gorgeous party look was created by Ashley Wallace.  Here's what she told us:

"Prepping hair is a massive part of keeping your look in place and ensuring the curls last as long as you do on those festive nights out! I prepped Tanya's hair with L'Oreal Professionnel Pli onto dry hair and then blow-dried it in.

I then sectioned the hair off and used the amazing GHD curl hold spray and curled the hair section by section using the GHD gold stylers.  TO do this, turn the hair 180 degrees and pull it slowly down and you'll create a bouncy fabulous curl!

I then applied L'Oreal Professionnel Savage Panache (my current fav product for party hair) in between the roots, to create guts and texture.

After ensuring all curls were cooled down, I dressed the curls out with my fingers and applied Kerastase Couture Styling Gloss Appeal, which is amazing for shine and a smooth finish. It's like lip gloss for your hair and is THE perfect finish for those glamorous party curls."

MAKE-UP

This year is all about statements and having a super smokey eye like Tanya's with a nude lip is one sure fire way of making one!  Leslie Sneddon, professional make-up artist tells us how to create this fabulous look.

"Use dark eye shadows all over the eyes chossing colours like plums, deep reds, navy or black and smoke these out with a good Duffy blending brush. Using a good quality black eyeliner pencil on the waterline finishes the smokey eye and I always add big lashes for a full on effect."

HAIR:

Braids have taken us by storm and this fabulous look doesn't need to be the reserve of the festival season. Leslie's gorgeous Dutch braids weave into a full wave at the back and look amazing with all of her party looks!

Hayleigh Davidson from Copperfields Artistic Team told us how to get this great style:

Party Look How To Leslie Hair"Using L’oreal pli I prepped the hair - this is a great setting spray to make any style last! To add a bit of texture to the party hair we strobed dutch braids into bouncy airy curls using the GHD styler.

For ultimate curl hold, try GHD’s curl hold spray - a favourite among the Copperfields Team - or go for Shu uemura volume maker which gives you an amazing texture to play with at both your roots for volume or to add density to braids."

MAKE-UP

If you're not a fan of smokey eyes then go for statement brows and lips.  Leslie tells us:

"This look can be created easily. Use clear soap on a disposable mascara wand with water to brush brows upwards and fill in slightly with a pencil or brow gel where you need more thickness.  Go for deep colours on the lips with this look to create a WOW party season look - I like velvet reds, chocolate browns and vampy purples."
