It’s been quite a few weeks for Perth as far as music announcements go. As well as another incredible Perth Festival of the Arts line-up being named which includes the likes of Jools Holland and Marc Almond, BBC’s Biggest Weekend also revealed its line-up for Scone Palace in May with Noel Gallagher, Amy MacDonald and Jamie Cullum among the stars heading to the crowning place of Scotland’s kings.
Add one of the world’s biggest selling artists of all time into the mix – Lionel Richie will pack out McDiarmid Park in June – plus the annual Southern Fried Festival in July and it’s fair to say it’s going to be a very exciting spring and summer in the city. If you think that’s all then think again because we have another international star heading to Perth in April.
Ireland’s number one entertainer, Nathan Carter, brings his ‘Livin’ the Dream’ tour to Perth Concert Hall on April 5th 2018, following on from his hugely successful debut US tour in 2017. Perhaps most famous for his 2012 hit ‘Wagon Wheel’ – a cover of a song written by Bob Dylan and Ketch Secor of Old Crow Medicine Show – Nathan has also covered Perthshire’s own Dougie MacLean’s classic Caledonia and will perform a mixture of originals and covers for the Perth crowd.

Across the water in Ireland, he has outsold the likes of One Direction, Pharrell Williams and Michael Bublé. He also became the first country act since Garth Brooks to reach number one in the Irish charts back in 2013.
It’s not the first time that the 27-year-old has come to the city and he’s already looking forward to returning to perform for his loyal Scottish fan base.
“I always look forward to playing in Scotland,” Nathan commented, “and the audience in Perth in particular is one of the most welcoming. It's one of the highlights of my tour and I'm looking forward to meeting some of my most passionate fans there too.”
The Perth date is one of the last on his UK tour, which got underway on the 25th January in Billingham, and on the night you can expect a packed intergenerational crowd as Nathan’s music appeals to not only youngsters but also their parents and grandparents!
