Mobile Food Photography Workshop

Join esteemed food photographer Gill Murray at Violet Studios for a fun iPhone Food Photography Workshop. The perfect workshop for instagrammers, restaurateurs and food lovers.

This workshop will cover iPhone camera basics to help you take better food photos. You will cover the use of natural lighting techniques, the use of props and photo composition whilst also touching on the topic of Instagram and how to get the most from it. The second half of the workshop will be a practical exercise in putting these skills into action. There will also be a selection of ingredients and some of Gill’s favourite props to experiment with and use in your practice.

Coffee & pastries on arrival.

You will need….

• An iPhone or tablet with full battery power (Gill’s phone of choice is an iPhone and the one she will be demonstrating with but any smart phone or tablet will be ok for the course)
• Ideally an Instagram account to which you can publish a few results on the day if you so wish

You will leave with….

• A workbook full of tips & tricks
• The knowledge and skills to photograph delicious food on your iPhone!

Gill Murray

Gill is a freelance food and drink photographer and stylist. Gill’s expertise in this sector has enabled her to work with many leading food producers, chefs, restaurants & hotels and publishers.

From recipe development, to styling and photography, Gill can work with you to showcase your food and drink through elegant imagery.

Gill shoots both on location and at her studio (Violet Studios) and contributes weekly to our food and drink section.

Violet Studios

Violet Studios is a 735 sq ft, light filled, modern rustic space offering a fully functioning kitchen with a vast selection of props, a large shooting area, a gathering space for creatives, and a cosy lounge area with a wood burning stove.

The studio has open views onto an apple orchard and the stunning countryside beyond, whilst only minutes from central Perth and just minutes from the M90 motorway with fast routes to both Edinburgh and Glasgow.
