Mahabodhi Kadampa Buddhist Centre is a registered Buddhist Charity based in Edinburgh providing people throughout the East Coast of Scotland with the opportunity to discover the benefits of meditation and the practical wisdom of Modern Kadampa Buddhism. We offer a wide range of classes, courses, public talks, retreats and study programs.
Our principal teacher is Buddhist monk, Kelsang Gomchen. He is a close disciple of the contemporary meditation master, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso and has been studying and practising meditation for many years including almost a year of silent retreat.

Our mental state is an essential, but often overlooked feature of a healthy life. Even those who enjoy relatively good physical health often find themselves subject to stress and anxiety.
In this special public talk we will learn how to meditate using two simple but powerful methods that can be reproduced in the home. We will explore the many benefits of mediation and learn how adopting a meditation practice can greatly enhance our general wellbeing and serve as the building blocks for a happy and healthy life.
All the teachings presented are derived from the Buddhist tradition, which has a long history of meditators who have led deeply meaningful, happy and healthy lives that continue to inspire modern day practitioners.
Leave inspired to start or renew your own regular meditation practice as part of a healthy lifestyle!
Everyone is welcome to attend. You can book here>>>
We are currently unable to run weekly classes in Perth, though we wish to do so by the end of 2016. For those with some experience who wish to receive more regular teachings, we also offer an in-depth study program called the Foundation Programme that can be taken by correspondence. We are currently studying New Heart of Wisdom, by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, which is a commentary to the Heart Sutra. Please contact us for more information.
All our classes and courses, with the exception of Foundation Programme, are run on a drop-in basis, which means you can just turn up to that single event without the commitment of becoming a member.
However, for those who wish to attend more frequent events or join the foundation program, we have a membership fee of £30 a month (with a minimum 3 month commitment). This allows you free access to all classes, courses (excluding empowerments) and public talks throughout Edinburgh and the East Coast of Scotland as well as optional enrolment on to the Foundation Program.
