Ancient crafts and technologies are showcased at this extraordinary fun filled family day!

Ancient crafts and technologies are showcased at this extraordinary day featuring bronze-casting, wood-turning and all the other amazing skills learned and implemented by our ancient ancestors. Hands-on, enlightening and exciting – let the experts at The Scottish Crannog Centre guide you through the Iron Age and all that makes it so special. 

All events include museum exhibits, talks around a log-fire in the Crannog roundhouse, demonstrations and hands-on experience of ancient crafts and technologies.

Re-discover ancient technology and the engineering know-how of our early Iron Age ancestors!

  • Help build the beginning stages of a jetty for dugout canoes.
  • Discover the ancient art of timber pile-driving by hand!
  • Try your hand at wood-working with replica prehistoric tools.
  • In between piling efforts, learn how the tools of the trade were made in our metalworking demonstration of smelting and casting in sand moulds. 

*Wellies and work gloves recommended!*

Adults  £10.50 | Seniors (over 60) £9.50 | Children (5-16) £8.00 | Students (17+) £9.00

Family tickets start at £28.00 for 2 adults and 1 child.
