St John’s Summer Fun Workshops

We all know that keeping the kids amused during the summer holidays is the ultimate parenting challenge! This year though, you can rest up easy for a few hours each week thanks to St John’s Shopping Centre in Perth City Centre. 

These fabulous FREE workshops and activities are ideal for kids aged up to 12 and offer everything from fitness fun to make your own musical instruments, drama workshops to singing in the mall!

WEEK 1: 3rd, 4th and 5th July | 11am - 3pm

Join the fun crew from Live Active Leisure for a whole host of energy boosting fitness activities that will see your little ones running, climbing and jumping around in their pop-up kids’ gymnasium and sportshall!  Smiles guaranteed for the first week of the holidays!

WEEK 2: 10th, 11th and 12th July | 11am - 3pm

Small City Crafts are here to get you festival ready with some super-fun ideas for making your own Musical Instruments.  Join Steffi and friends to create your own Banjo (Tuesday), Straw pipes (Wednesday) and Shake and Tap drums (Thursday).

WEEK 3: 17th, 18th and 19th July | 11am - 3pm

It’s summer loving fun this week, with Small City Crafts helping us to connect with nature. From a gentle breeze to enjoying our feathered friends, Steffi and her crafty friends have some super fresh ideas to liven up the holidays. Create your own Wind Chime (Tuesday), Bird Feeders (Wednesday) and Twirl Ribbons (Thursday).

WEEK 4: 24th, 25th and 26th July | 11am - 3pm

Tuesday 24^th – Join the Horsecross Arts Creative Learning team for a workshop in Scratch Performance. This workshop will offer you the opportunity to learn new drama skills incorporating drama games, improvising and devising. The event will culminate in a short sharing of the work created in the workshop.

Wednesday 25^th – Jazz hands at the ready! It’s a whole day of Musical Theatre from the amazing gang at Ad-Lib.  

Thursday 26th - Join Perth Festival of Yarn for a drop-in crafting session weaving Mexican yarn mandalas. This activity is suitable for toddlers to teens and you will leave with a beautiful colourful mandala that you can use as a decoration or a bookmark!
