Danny MacAskill Celebrates with Live Active Leisure!

Hold On To Your Bike Helmet! Danny MacAskill's Drop And Roll Tour is coming to Perth! Danny, Duncan Shaw, Fabio Wibner and Ali C will all be with us at Bell's Sport Centre on 31st October as Live Active Leisure celebrate their 50th Birthday.  

For those of you scratching your heads going.. 'I know that name' Danny MacAskill is the Scottish Trials Rider who brought the world to a virtual stand-still with his breathtaking viral video of a lone rider coming down the steep and rocky Cuilin Ridge in The Isle of Skye. In the first five days, the video on YouTube garnered over 10 million views - and he's coming to the Small City courtesy of the Live Active Leisure' 50 For A Reason' celebrations! (And thanks to their lovely sponsors!)

Tickets have gone on sale for the unique full-day event at Bell's Sports Centre on 31st October 2015 when the Drop And Roll Tour will be the main attraction at LAL’s big party! This is a thrilling 25 minute show with stunts and tricks that will have you on teh edg eof your seat. Stay on at the end for photos and autographs – you can even get your bike helmet signed by one of the crew!

As well as three shows from Danny and his team mates, LAL will also welcome Aaron Gray of Muckmeddan Events and the Scottish Mountain Bike Consortium who will be offering tasters to all the kids and teenagers over the course of the day. Live Active Leisure will break out their sports-themed family activities with street football and static climbing walls being brought in for the day. I'm also told that anyone who missed the Fitness Expo will be able to try their new fitness taster sessions. 

There is also a seperate 'Evening with Danny MacAskill' which will offer ticket holders the chance to hear Danny talk about his journey to the top of the world’s Trial Riding scene and ask questions of the man himself!

This amazing event has been made possible by a number of local Perth based businesses; Clark Thomson Insurance Brokers Ltd, The Scottish Mountain Bike Consortium, One Call Ltd, St John’s Shopping Centre and local online magazine Small City, Big Personality (US!), have all joined forces with LAL to bring this fantastic 50 year celebration to the city.   

I caught up with Jim Moyes, Live Active Leisure CEO to shake his hand and sound out a big WELL DONE for bringing such an awesome event to Perth.

I KNOW that tickets have been selling like hot cakes since they went on sale on Monday and my advice to you is to be QUICK! Around 1500 tickets are up for grabs but these will go faster than a trials rider off an edge!

Danny MacAskill - Drop And Roll Tour

Danny MacAskill is a Scottish trials cyclist from The Isle of Skye. He works professionally as a street trials pro-rider for Inspired Bicycles Ltd.  In April 2009 he released a five-and-a-half-minute street trials video on YouTube which had been filmed by his flatmate Dave Sowerby. The video received popular acclaim and widespread media attention and since then he has released several other astonishing pieces of work, most notably, The Ridge in October 2014.

The Drop and Roll Tour is a collaboration between Danny and his team mates Duncan Shaw, Fabio Wibner and Ali C.   Featuring an exhilarating half hour street trials show, which will be performed in Bells Sports Centre at 11am, 1pm and 3pm on October 31st, this is a unique opportunity to get up close and experience the thrills of world-class street riding.
