Perth Stylist For The Win

By 15th November 2016
Hard work and talent has to be one of the most powerful combinations out there and Craig Simpson from Copperfields Hair and Beauty in Perth, has proven himself to have buckets of both this week.

As a finalist in the NHF Photographic Stylist of the Year competition for 2016, Craig was already mixing in prestigious hairdressing circles but the news that he'd won his category has been a huge coup for both him and the Copperfield's Team.

The competition, run by the National Hairdressers’ Federation, announced the winners on Sunday November 13 at the NHF’s Britain’s Best competition. This year the competition received record entries, making Craig’s win even more impressive.

1 CRAIGHis creation, which won in the Male Fashion Look category, is a striking look encompassing today's trends for men.  His idea was to give a strong, fashion-forward style that would be easily managed by men at home.

The National Hairdressers’ Federation is the biggest salon trade association in the industry. It provides its members with support in legal, trading, personnel and insurance matters. It is also a significant lobbyist, frequently feeding back to government on crucial issues that affect the industry.

NHF president Agnes Leonard said: “My congratulations to Craig – he should be extremely proud of what he has achieved, and the credit he brings to our wonderful industry.

Competitions like Photographic Stylist of the Year are hugely important to hairdressing and barbering. Not only do they celebrate and showcase the very best our industry has to offer, they serve to inspire stylists and teams to go out of their comfort zone, to push the boundaries of what’s possible and, in the process, come up with designs of breath-taking invention, beauty and creativity.’’

Craig, who is a senior stylist and part of the Copperfields Artistic Team, has been blown away by the result and is now back in the salon enjoying the praise of his team mates!

"I was so surprised to have won and I'm really grateful to the rest of the team for supporting me in this. It is an amazing feeling to be recognised by your peers and I'm proud to be bringing the trophy back to Perth!"

Derek Irving, Copperfields director spoke for the team when he said, “We’re all very proud of Craig’s achievement; awards such as this one motivate the entire team and help us set standards across the salon. A huge well done to him.”

And a huge well done from all of us at Small City! #PerthPioneer #CraigForTheWin
