Calling all the sports clubs, coaches and performance athletes! Live Active Lesiure, in conjunction with Gannochy Trust, has announced their new funding opportunities and there's up to £1000 for coach development, club development and indiviudal performance path athlete's coaching.
The partnership between Perth’s amazing Gannochy Trust and Live Active Leisure is nothing new – it was thanks to this unique meeting of minds in fact, that LAL is currently celebrating 50 years serving the local community. During the half decade of both organisations working together there have been many fantastic achievements including the building of Bells Sports Centre and Perth Leisure Pool, the development of the Talented Athlete Performance Squad and the investment in the equipment, coaches and people that make Perth and Kinross a leader in the field when it comes to community sporting involvement.
One of LAL's most successful programmes of recent years has been the Coaching Grants and Coach Development opportunities. Coaches are almost always volunteers who are passionate about the sports the end up involved in. Many have played themselves when younger, some at performance level, some as keen amateurs; there are also many parents involved in the coaching of clubs after their children become involved. Whatever the reason behind the involvement one things is clear – without these volunteers many, many sporting opportunities simply wouldn’t exist.
LAL and The Gannochy Trust have come together to offer support and financial assistance in coach development and club development. This year alone the programme has helped support coaches to do Swimming courses, Netball courses and canoeing courses aswell as assisting Gymnastics, Cricket and Table Tennis.
There are three main areas of assistance and these are open now for applications with a closing date of 30th June.
Supporting Performance Pathways – Grants of Up To £1000
