Everyone knows the very best part of Christmas isn't the gifts or the tinsel, its the stories that we tell while sitting with our loved ones munching Christmas chocolate and drinking mulled wine (grown-ups only please!). Festive tales and seasonal stories will fill the air with hope and love and wind their way into the ears of wee, small children and the adults who want to hear them.
This year St John’s Shopping Centre is calling on the children of Perth to come up with some Festive stories for their Christmas competition. The competition is for all Primary School aged children and closes on the 7th December – so plenty of time to dig inside the most magical side of your imagination.
We want to read something so christmassy and fun it will make our hearts explode with love and excitement! Junior authors should write about 250 words and send it into our friend Claire at St John’s Shopping Centre by 7th December She does love Christmas so make sure to tell a tale that will leave her smiling from ear to tinselly ear!
I'm thinking elves, Santa or maybe a fairy or two... MMMM. We'll run the winning story here on Small City and the Perthshire Advertiser, who have sponsored this with Claire are running the top ten!
The winning writer will receive a top prize of a £50 gift card for Waterstones AND a large, framed printed illustration of their story from the amazing CharlieDoodles. Waterstones will also make a window display of your story. I LOVE this prize!
2nd prize – £30 Waterstones giftcard
3rd prize – £20 Waterstones giftcard
The Top Ten entries will be featured in the Perthshire Advertiser!
You should email your story along with your name, age, school, address and the phone number of an adult we can contact if you win, to Claire.McDiarmid@stjshopping.co.uk or post it to St John’s Shopping Centre. Entries close on 7th December 2015. The full rules can be found here>>>
