Charlie Taylor, a long-standing Perth hairdressing salon with an impressive 30 years trading in Perth City Centre has this week added two more accolades to an already bulging trophy cabinet.
Charlie is one of the few women to earn a place in the British Hairdressing Hall of Fame, having won the Scottish Hairdresser of the Year title three times. She's a major force in the hairdressing world, not only here in the UK, but also internationally.
We were delighted to hear that she was recently named Hair Stylist of the Year at the glamorous ceremony held on the 15th May at The Radisson Blu Hotel, Glasgow. The two salons that bear her name also took the Defacto Large Salon of the Year title.
Out of the 100-plus specialists shortlisted for the 21 awards, Charlie was the only nominee to win two of the top prizes!
The Scotland-wide competition awarded prizes in 21 separate categories spanning the full range of hair and beauty services.
The aim of these awards is to highlight the wealth of exceptional talent within the Scottish hair and beauty sector and to celebrate the impressive contribution made by salon owners, hairdressers and beauty therapists to the style, economic and business life of Scotland.
Congratulating Charlie and all the nominees, Marcus Macleod, owner of salon directory website and Salon of the Year sponsor Defacto, commented:
"It's truly amazing to see all these people and businesses being honoured for their contributions to the industry.’
The judges described Charlie as a ‘hair industry trailblazer’ and ‘an ambassador for this growing industry’."
Charlie is delighted with her wins and had this to say:
‘It’s always great to get recognition from your peers and others within the industry. These awards mean a lot to me and I’d especially like to thank all the hard-working members of my team, who do their utmost, day in, day out, to make the Charlie Taylor brand a success and without whom I wouldn’t have a business at all.’
Massive well done Charlie from everyone here at Small City - here's to another successful 30 years!
