Cast Your Vote For PFT!

By 8th August 2016

Voting is now open for the UK's Most Welcoming Theatre 2016 and Perthshire is in the picture!

One of our favourite nights out in the whole of the county, the internationally renowned Pitlochry Festival Theatre is calling upon the people of Perthshire - and beyond! - to 'cast a vote' as they announce their shortlisting for the prestigious title of the UK's Most Welcoming Theatre.

Last year, Pitlochry Festival Theatre was voted by the general public as the National Winner for Scotland and is aiming to go one stage further this year by winning the Most Welcoming Theatre in the UK award.

John Durnin, Chief Executive and Artistic Director of Pitlochry Festival Theatre commented:

“We were delighted to win the Most Welcoming Theatre in Scotland award last year at the first attempt. It was a little overwhelming to discover just how many Scottish theatre-goers chose to cast a vote for PFT and we were touched that so many people valued so highly our efforts to provide all those who visit the Theatre in the Hills with the highest possible standards of customer service and the warmest of Highland welcomes.

Now, we want to see if we can go one better and not just win the Award for the Most Welcoming Theatre in Scotland for the second year in a row, but also claim the title of the Most Welcoming Theatre in the UK!”

The winners are decided by audiences via an online public vote and so we're asking you, the Small City Readers, to cast your vote for Pitlochry Festival Theatre from 12 noon on 9th August. Simply visit UKTHEATRE.ORG/VOTE and vote in just two clicks!

As an award-winning building-based producer, Pitlochry Festival Theatre is renowned for their remarkably high production value, equated with, and often surpassing West End standards.

The resulting mix of high-quality plays and musicals attracts much in the way of national interest, with audiences travelling from far and wide to the theatre in the hills of Highland Perthshire.

Over summer season 2016 they are showing seven plays (one more than their usual six) and utilising the talents of one of the UK’s largest ensemble of actors.  You can check out their offering over on our Arts Events In Perthshire Section >>>
