If you're a frustrated shower singer, wannabe dancer or have an itch to help backstage in a big time production then this one is for you!
Perth Amateur Operatic Society kick off their new season on Monday 21st September with an open evening for all the stars in the making! They're throwing open their doors and inviting the signers, actors and dancers of Perthshire to drop in and find out more about becoming a member of PAOS.
The photograph here is of South Pacific, last year's show, and as you can see, they go all out to create a fantastically professional show - the only amateur thing about them is the name!
Sounding like it could be for you? Then head along to the Royal George at 7.30pm on Monday 21st where you can meet current society members and chat about what's in store for the forthcoming year...
...Spoiler Alert - its Sunshine On Leith! One of my all time favourites, PAOS will be performing this amazing show in the North Inch campus in April 2016. They also have a Christmas concert scheduled in for a fun packed season.
If, like me, you're only allowed to sing with the Karoke mic turned off, then there is still hope for you! You can have your moment in the production sun, helping backstage and front of house.
Those of you who do have the stage presence to join as an active (on stage) member will be asked to attend an audition on Wednesday 23rd September at St Matthew’s on Tay Street.
Show rehearsals will kick off on
Monday 28th September and we'll all see you at curtain up in April - so exciting! (Yes, I do feel like I'm part of it just because I've written this article!)
If you are successful, please do send us your pics and tell us what you're doing; we'd love to know.
