Weddings are a big part of what Byers & Co do. Weddings and engagements seem to be taking more and more interesting forms, and loads of couples are looking for that something a wee bit unique and interesting. Whether its fare trade materials, a specific colour, or a specific theme, Byers and Co are happy to offer design inspiration to help couples create something spectacular and unique to each customer.
Commissions always start with a blether to bounce different ideas about.Commissions always start with a blether to bounce different ideas about. From there Linda puts pen to paper and prepares up to 8 design ideas together using the brief set out in the first meeting, and can incorporate the customers own metal and stones if desired.
Stones can be ordered in for selection, from a selection of fine diamonds in all sorts of sizes, cuts and colours, to a selection of precious or semi-precious stones of any colour and shape you could imagine.
After that, Linda will tweak and refine the sketches to your feedback before settling on a final design together and confirming the price, then it's to the bench! Rings can take between two and six weeks to complete, so usually you'll agree a collection date at this final meeting.

Making your own wedding rings works in much of a similar way, usually a chat about what you would like, Linda gets the materials in and prepped, before a busy day of soldering, hammering, shaping and polishing. Manicures aren't recommended before the workshop day! But what better way to work out pre-wedding angst than hammering solid metal?
Then at the end of a busy day, you can take away your very own hand made wedding rings boxed and ready for the big day. Of course Linda is on hand the whole day to step in as much or as little as you would like.
Workshop days are £250 per couple, excluding materials. The materials start at £50 but are subject to your choice and carat of metal.
Byers & Co is full of little gems, quite literally, which make the perfect gift for bridesmaids or groomsmen such as gorgeous jewellery, precious keepsakes, to bespoke kilt pins which can have birthstones, mountain ranges, coordinates, timelines, maps, initials, song lyrics, or anything incorporated!
Every piece made in their George Street Workshop is crafted with care and dedication to give you a gift to be treasured.
