To coincide with The Solheim Cup taking place in Perthshire this year, Perth Museum and Art Gallery tells the story of Perth’s Fairway Maid, Jessie Valentine.

Born in Perth in 1915, Jessie Valentine was a force to be reckoned with within the Womens golf scene of the 1930's to 1950's.

Her lifelong golfing career with championship wins at home and abroad led to her becoming a Scottish sporting legend. Awarded an MBE for services to golf she turned professional in the 1960s using her skills to design golf clubs for women.

Furthermore, she was amongst 50 other sporting legends awarded with an inaugural place in the Scottish Sport Hall of Fame in 2002.
