This term the focus will be on four week blocks working with the same singing tutor to build up skills and confidence.

Folk singer Debbie Armour will lead the group for Rounds, Chants and Torch Songs looking at fun and satisfying songs from British tradition, around the world, and the top 40 from 22 January until 12 February.

Opera singer Aimee Toshney will take over from 26 February until 18 March to celebrate International Women’s Week by exploring songs from Carole King, Eva Cassidy, Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston.

Emma Neck, creative learning music coordinator for Horsecross Arts, the creative organisation behind Perth Concert Hall and Perth Theatre said:

“We are excited to offer an alternate format, and to be working with such talented singing tutors, bringing the best quality in their genre. The benefits of having the continuity of a four week block, will allow the choir to develop many different skills, and build a strong sense of togetherness, which is extremely important to every choir and the participants.”
