Jackie Stones is one of those people whose infectious energy and zest for life uplifts everyone around her! Working as an Events Manager at Blair Castle, her life is a little bit like a fairytale: and she holds the keys to the castle.

"I cover everything required for the Big Day - from the meet, the planning and delivery and lots more. At times I show people round our beautiful castle - other times I am involved a range of behind the scenes wedding magic!", she tells us.

We loved getting the inside scoop on life, love and laughter from Jackie: and we know you will too! 💖

Tell us the weirdest / funniest thing that has ever happened to you at work?
Last year we had a big wedding where the bride and groom decided to organise surprises for each other. The first of my challenges was to smuggle Clanadonia on to the forecourt whilst the group was facing the other direction so we had to get the photographer to take so many group photos to distract them, then whilst they were eating I had to smuggle a very large fire-breathing dragon outside for the groom. Make of that what you will!

What signals the start of your days off?
Movie night with my children, we are all so busy during the week so I love getting curled up with them to watch a cheesy movie, eat bad food and catch up on the week’s news.

Being such a large part of the couple's day and knowing I made their most memorable day of their lives, is my favourite part of the job!

What might people be surprised to know about you?
I didn’t own a skirt or heels until 10 x years ago nor did I wear make-up.

What is at the top of your bucket list?
I did a bungee jump last year for charity and this year I am doing the great north run for Cancer. The top of my list is to visit Caribbean on a cruise.

What is the worst job you’ve ever had?
About 16 years ago I worked in a private pharmacist company that placed pharmacists in to chemists. I lasted a month: it was degrading and horrible.

Who or what inspires you?
My Nana. She was a strong woman who wasn’t afraid of hard work regardless of personal sacrifice to ensure her family (a very large one) had what they needed. She taught me to be unique and be proud of it. She also taught me the importance of honesty and integrity, which keeps me humble.

Tell us about the day you’d love to live again?
Becoming a mum, the start of a journey that has helped me develop who I am today.

What’s the best part about your job?
Being such a large part of the couple's day and knowing I made their most memorable day of their lives an experience and memory they will treasure for the rest of their lives……I just love romance!!!

Complete this sentence; the best things in life are….
The people we love, the places we have seen and the memories we have made…..oh and my shoe collection!!!
