The Touch of Tartan Weekend, which will include the 4th annual Kilt Run as well as a great number of other events and activities, will take place on Perth’s North Inch on Saturday 8 August.
There are five separate running and walking events taking place on the Saturday which are as follows:

There are shuttle buses available, to take Half Marathon Runners, Half Marathon Walkers, friend’s, families and supporters from Bells Sports Centre to Perth Airport (and return). This service will be free of charge and run from 08.45 to 12 noon.
Contestants will be warmed up for the Half Marathon and the Kilt Walk and Run by Fitness Instructor Claire McDougall.
Athletes and members of the public are also encouraged to take advantage of a free massage from Crieff Community Hospital Physio team or Perth City Osteopathy who will be on the North Inch on Saturday.
Entertainment
As well as the events during the day there will also be a number of sources of entertainment taking place on Perth’s North Inch, which include performances from Dougie MacLean and Mad Ferret.
The Main Stage will be situated on the North Inch Perth with an entertainments programme starting from 11.30 to approx. 16.30 featuring:
• Eric Faulkner’s Bay City Rollers
• Perthshire legend Dougie MacLean
• The Mad Ferret Band
The Mascot Race will prelude the Kilt Run with Hairy McKilty (Kilt Run mascot) , Shorty (Deans Shortbread mascot) , Jog Scotty (Scottish Athletics) and Rover (the Guide Dogs ) competing against each other at 13.00.
The Events arena will see the Tartan Dog & Duck Show as well as the Tartan Games with great audience participation as well as a Children’s Highland Games.
Other events on the North Inch include a wide range of Inflatable Fun, Children’s Rides, and Have Go Golf inflatables.
The City of Perth Pipe Band, Strathearn Pipe Band and the Beats of Brazil will provide musical entertainment within the arena.
Dance will be covered by the Julie Young Dance School, the Perth Step dancers and Letham Majorettes.
There will be many stalls on site with creative arts, face painting, the Adventure Circus, magic shows and falconry displays.
