30th November - 10am to 5pm
What better way to take the sting out of Christmas Shopping than with a celebration of Scotland's Patron Saint? Perth's first St Andrew's Day Festival brings The Red Hot Chilli Pipers together with me, Gill and #SmallCityRecipes in a high octane street ceilidh that's free for everyone to enjoy!
OK, we're not really meant to be in there with the headline act but hey, that's the crazy levels of power you have when you write the whole site! ;-)
Our first outing since the launch, #SmallCityRecipes is pulling together a whole host of foodie treats from around Perthshire. We've sweet talked chefs, delis and producers to bring you a stand stuffed full of cook demos, delicious tasters, mixologists, cake demos and a laugh or two along the way. We'll both be there to meet everyone, hand out the freebies and tempt you into donating a penny or two for Perth Food Bank as we raffle off a sackful of seasonal goodies!
Here's The Story So Far!
10am - Wee Cups of Yummy Hot Chocolate from The Wicked Chocolate Company (and a little slug of the good stuff from Provender Brown!)
10.30am - Hot Soup Tasters from Glendoick Garden Centre
11.30am - Graeme The Cake with his Festive Cake Demo
12pm - Reids Cafe Homemade Mini Sweet Treats
12.30pm - Praveen from Tabla with a Rosette Standard Indian Cook Demo
1.30pm - Provender Brown's Festive Surprise
2pm - Macarons from Duo Deli
2.30pm - More Hot Soup Tasters from Glendoick Garden Centre
3.30pm - Gill's Amazing Chocolate Balls!
4.00pm - Something boozy from Provender Brown while The Red Hot Chilli Pipers are playing!
All Day Long - raffle for Perth Food Bank.
Any tasters from the timeslots allocated will be given out all day to all you lucky people!
As if our freezing cold November noses and boozy hot chocolate wasn't enough of a draw, you can also see the world's favourite Bag Rock Band, The Red Hot Chilli Pipers, as they hit the streets with a performance that will set your feet tapping and your body burling! Llisten to GlaꞋ perform recent chart hits in Gaelic, take part in bagpipe workshops with the Chillies and enjoy the fabulous Highland dancers at this amazing street festival.
Stalls of Scottish produce, artisan crafts and wonderful events will all be showcased on the day.
There's also some great street entertainment and traditional Scottish story tellers. The finale of the festival will be the Provost's St Andrews Day address following the parade by the District Pipe bands.
We can't wait to see you!
