For those of you who love rugby, you’ll want to make sure you get down to the North Inch on Saturday for the Perthshire Rugby Club Open Day. Kicking off at 10:30am, it’s going to be a fantastic day and there will also be surprise guests from the Scottish national team coming along to join in the fun too!
There’s a host of activities planned for girls and boys from primary one right up to under 18s, and the Perthshire Rugby team want to see as many young, fresh faces as possible to come along and play. It’s open to all levels of experience, from those who have never played before to those who play week in, week out.
The club’s chief executive, Allan Brown, is looking forward to what is expected to be a very busy day on the inch.
“We’ve got an action packed day of fun in store, with rugby skills activities planned for girls and boys from primary school right up to under 18s age, between 10:30am and 2pm. We’re also delighted to announce that as part of our Royal Bank Rugby Force sponsorship, Scotland international players will be joining in the fun during the day.
“There will be a raffle, kit exchange, bake sale and refreshments, and there will be a BBQ at our Open Day village opposite Bell’s Sports Centre on the North Inch. It’s an opportunity to find out more about Perthshire Rugby and speak to us about how you can get involved – whether that’s as a player, volunteer, supporter or sponsor – in the forthcoming season.”

The club are celebrating their 150th year next year and are always looking for new players across all of their teams to come along to their training sessions. Those who attend the free open day on Saturday will also get a discounted rate on training sessions for the next four weeks after the event at just £2 per week!
The open day is part of what will be a busy weekend on the North Inch, with the Perth 5K Kilt Run taking place on the same day at 2:30pm. Make sure you lend the runners your support too if you are heading down to take part in the rugby.
