Music and the pub – it’s always a great mix! There’s nothing quite like having a few pints with friends listening to some of the biggest musical talents that our city has to offer, and when it’s a free event it’s all the sweeter.

Returning for its fourth year with its biggest line-up to date – the Perth Music Expo 2017 is shaping up to be a fantastic evening of live entertainment! The event takes place on Thursday 7th September across three city centre venues.

There will be free music from two of Perth’s best known venues – The Twa Tams and The Green Room – as well as a panel of guests from the music industry taken to the stage at Perth Playhouse. It all gets underway from 6PM at the Playhouse, with the other two gigs both starting at 8PM.

The Music Expo is held in conjunction with Perth College UHI, Perth 2021, local firm Vadana Records and the Scottish Alternative Music Awards, and those in attendance will be treated to a fantastic line-up in what is being labelled as the best yet. We are thrilled to announce what is our biggest line-up yet.

Perthshire acts such as Womps, Pinact, Real Life Entertainment, Rebel Westerns and many more will take to the stage across the three venues and our own resident music man, Colin McSloy, is very excited about this year’s Expo line-up!

The event’s organiser, Andrew Dyce, is counting down the days until it all gets underway and he hopes to see a big turnout across the three venues.

“We are thrilled to announce what is our biggest line-up yet. We have ten amazing acts performing across the venues all in one night, and a music industry panel with special guests at the Playhouse too.

“Best of all – it’s free! Perth is an excellent place for bands and music lovers, and the Perth Music Expo 17 will highlight that.”

This will be the events fourth year and each year it gets bigger and better. It was initially created as a student project, but it’s grown and grown and around 500 people are expected to attend across the three venues on the night.

There’s a good mixture of local acts from the Perthshire area, as well as some bands coming to the city from elsewhere in Scotland. The Twa Tams and The Green Room are two of our cities most renowned music venues and the atmosphere is always fantastic.
