Attracting average crowds of over 5,000 people, Perth Highland Games includes traditional Heavyweight events such as throwing weights and hammers and tossing the caber. There is also Highland dancing, running and cycle races, solo piping and the very popular pipe band contest.

This year's Perth Highland Games will be held on Sunday 11th August at Scone Palace.

Highland Games and Gatherings are a great Scottish tradition which celebrate Scotland's culture and include Highland dancing, pipe band music, challenging games including the famous 'tossing of the caber' and so much more.

Perth Highland Games were first held in the 1920s and are a wonderful day out for the whole family. Perth attracts competitors and attendees not just from the surrounding area, but from across the world.

Events at games include foot races (including a Scottish Championship sprint), cycle races, heavyweights (hammer throw, tossing the caber etc), tug o'war, highland dancing, and a pipe band competition. The day is spectaclarly closed with the not to be missed massed pipe bands!
