You will know, if you are a regular reader of Small City, Big Personality, that PKAVS is our chosen charity and we do our best to spread the word about their amazing work throughout our local communities.
This year, like all years, PKAVS has been working hard to enhance lives and connect communities throughout Perth & Kinross. Every year, through support and working in partnership, they help over 5,000 local people including adults with mental ill health, young and adult unpaid carers and minority communities, to overcome personal barriers and achieve their goals in life.

19th November
Christmas Light Switch On Street Collection
Head in to Perth City Centre and you may see some familiar characters wandering the streets waiting for Perth’s Christmas Lights to be turned on! If you do, remember to stop for a photograph and make a donation to PKAVS!
26th November
Countdown to Christmas
Brace your elves, Christmas is coming! A fun and festive day at The Walled Garden with stalls selling handmade wreaths, winter plants and hampers, live music, festive food and mulled wine, and garden and art workshops. Come along between 11am and 3pm to start off your Christmas celebrations!
29th November
#GivingTuesday
Give back this Christmas. Text PKAV16 and your donation amount to 70070 then post a selfie online encouraging others to do the same.
1st December Onwards
Great Christmas Bake Off
Put on a baking challenge over the Christmas period and let a team of lucky judges decide who will be crowned the Great Christmas Bake Off Champion. Afterwards, sell the remaining cakes and donate the proceeds to PKAVS.
3rd December
Christmas Market & Craft Fair
Come along to the Salutation Hotel in Perth between 12pm and 4pm and visit PKAVS free festive market. Find unique Christmas gifts and take the little ones to visit Santa in his Grotto!
7th December
Big Christmas Quiz
Join us at the Salutation Hotel from 7.30pm and test your knowledge. Tickets are just £6 per person with teams of 5 people welcome.
9th December
Christmas Jumper Day
Get your school or work involved with a dress-down day and have everyone donate £1 to PKAVS. Share your photos with us on social media!
14th December
Onesie Wednesday
A twist on the classic ‘Wear Your Pyjamas to Work Day’. Have your school or work mates turn up in their warmest onesies and have everyone donate £1 to PKAVS. Remember to share your photos!
16th December
That’s a Wrap!
Come visit us in the St John’s Shopping Centre between 12pm and 4pm with your Christmas gifts and our team of experienced gift wrapping elves will beautifully adorn your presents for you!
17th December
Pre-loved Presents
Come along to PKAVS Pop Shop on South Street and explore the wonderful collection of pre-loved items for sale. While you are browsing enjoy a warm glass of non-alcoholic mulled wine and homemade mince pie! There will even be some hand crafted Christmas wreaths available to purchase!
19th December
Christmas Raffle
Make sure you have purchased your PKAVS Christmas raffle tickets as we will be drawing the winners on this date! Alternatively, why not host your own raffle in aid of PKAVS?
21st December
M&S Bag Back
Volunteer your time and join us at M&S Inveralmond, Perth for a very Christmassy bag pack. Even if you only have an hour to spare please do get involved and help us make the difference this Christmas.
