City of Perth Gold Cup

It's the most prestigious race on the calendar - get ready for the City of Perth Gold Cup!

We absolutely love Gold Cup Day here at Small City! It's one of the busiest racing days of the year and the atmosphere is always spectacular!

With live music from the moment you walk through the gates, the atmosphere is going to be electric and the Grandstand will be packed.

It's the richest day on the calendar at Perth, with £80,000 worth of prize money spread over seven races! The main event is of course the City of Perth Gold Cup, and the winner will scoop £30,000!

The centre course will also be open for those who wish to drive right in and enjoy a Sunday afternoon watching the highlight of the racing season at Perth!

There will be live music on entrance to the Grandstand area with plentiful food and drink and large screens to watch the action.

Get in early as the crowds will flock to see the highlight of the Perth racing calendar – the grandstands are always filled with excited fans cheering their horses over the line.

Dress for the occasion – it’s the most prestigious race of the year, so put on your best gear!

Try the local beers and ales on offer from the Inveralmond and StrathBaan breweries. If you get hungry, try some fresh, locally sourced haddock and chips from the Fish and Chip shop next to The Barn.

It’s going to be an incredible atmosphere with the best of UK & Irish racing showcasing their talent right here at Perth!

Make sure you arrive early if you want to drive right in – it’s one of the busiest fixtures and the centre course will be packed!

It’s an ideal day to bring a picnic to the centre course and enjoy an afternoon of live music and racing. There will be a small range of inflatables available for the kids, so it’s a day the whole family can enjoy!

The sports bar will be open throughout the afternoon and there will be a wide range of drinks on offer.

Casual clothes are fine in the centre course, but make sure you dress sensibly for the weather. Remember hats and sun cream if it’s a hot, sunny day!

WEAR: It’s the richest race day of the calendar – so look the part! Casual, comfortable clothes are fine in the centre course but dress for the weather.

EAT: Try the locally sourced haddock and chips from the Fish and Chip shop, next to The Barn.

SEE: The Parade Ring – the prize money on offer attracts the best of British & Irish racing to Perth so go along and see the horses up close before you place your bets. There will be a Q&A with some famous racing faces too.

DO: Get down to the betting ring and have a flutter! Who will win the coveted City of Perth Gold Cup?

EXTRAS: The centre course is open with a selection of inflatables for the kids and the sports bar for the adults.

It’s the biggest event of the year in monetary terms – the City of Perth Gold Cup! The action will unfold in front of one of our busiest crowds of the season, in a card worth £80,000!

First staged in 2000, our feature race – the Gold Cup – is worth £30,000 alone attracts some of the sport’s best chasers. Last year’s runner-up, Menorah, was the classiest horse to grace Perth for 20 years.

Packed grandstands and a busy centre course – it’s going to be a great spectacle and definitely not to be missed!
